Harrisburg’s Fresh Horses in conjunction with The Phoenix Lounge will host a poker run Saturday for an injured boy from the community.

Bryce Schroeder suffered life-threatening injuries in a motor vehicle accident on June 9. His current injuries are not known and family members could not be reached but according to a poster announcing the poker run, his condition has improved some.

“While his condition is slowly improving, he continues to need extensive medical care and rehabilitation. Please join us as we help raise money for Bryce and the Schroeder family to alleviate some of their medical expenses,” according to the poster.

The city has blocked off a stretch of Willow Street near Fresh Horses because of expected high numbers of people taking part in the poker run. Willow Street, between Railroad Avenue and Prairie Street, will be closed from 5 to 9 p.m.

The poker run starts at 11:30 a.m. at Fresh Horses. The route includes Cheb’s in Canton, Waddy’s in Hudson, Growler’s Alcester and Otis’ in Worthing. An extra card is available at The Phoenix Lounge.

Riders need to be back to Fresh Horses by 5:30 p.m.

All benefits go to the Schroeder family.

Prizes will be awarded.
